The race around Eddystone Lighthouse is one of the most popular as it provides crews with a great opportunity to try out the first part of the Rolex Fastnet Race course. This race takes in some of the most challenging and complex tidal gates around notable headlands that include Portland Bill and Start Point providing a real challenge for navigators and tacticians, and usually a great downwind ride back to the finish.
The Yacht
An offshore race prepared Beneteau First 40.7, the most successful cruiser racer ever built. Complete with race and delivery sails and several spinnakers, the boat is fast, safe and easily sailed. Down below, we have all (most) mod cons and is very comfortable. We sail with two watches, so there is always an opportunity to get involved and when you are off watch – soak in the experience, sit back and enjoy the ride!
